Whole Latte Life - The Miniseries, Webisode 2

As Matinee Mondays continue, I'm presenting the second scene-selection from my novel. Today we're travelling visually into the heart of Whole Latte Life.  This Webisode, Ghosts, takes a quote from the book that looks at how memories haunt my main character Sara Beth as she struggles to make pivotal decisions in her life.  My feeling is that at some point, don't we all catch a glimpse of these ghosts?

  2. Ghosts come in all shapes, sizes, colors, and forms. Memories certainly can be ghosts that haunt. Don't they have a Ghost Begone in a spray can, or is life not that simple?

  3. I love your teasers Joanne. I have so many ghosts. Thankfully, in the past few years, they seem to have found their rest.

  4. Lindsay - Thanks, I thought I'd move a step beyond the trailer and try these.

Stephen - Memories can be the most potent, though. They certainly are for my main character.

Sarah - That's what Sara Beth is trying to do, set them to rest as she listens to their message.

  5. Still more questions than answers at this point ~ and that's the sign of a good story!

  7. Yes, we all have ghosts...I guess it's a matter of which ones or one we allow to haunt us the most. Definitely enjoying the journey, Joanne! Looking forward to next Monday.

  8. Wonderful video. Really, one of the best trailers out there.

And I have ghosts in my novel that function as a sort of manifestation of my character's guilt. She's the only one who sees them, but it's perfectly normal for her. She's been seeing them since she was a child and her mother died.

  11. Sharon - I think that's the intent of a trailer, not so much to tell the story, but to raise questions the reader will want to know the answers to ... So, thanks :)

Cafe Fashionista - These types of ghosts, memories casting doubts, are very potent in my story.

Andee - In my novel, it's my character's response to them that helps shape her actions.

  17. That is one of my most favorite lines from the book. And I can't wait for everyone to read the context behind the Webisode, too. When readers come across that passage in the book, they're going to start hearing those notes of classical music and envisioning the plane and thinking of Sara Beth's what if's and maybe their own what if's too. Ah, and one of my favorite characters who I cannot name yet! <3

  18. For some reason your video isn't playing for me, but I know what your saying. For me a lot of my ghosts are just regrets.

  20. Yes, indeed. There are some times in our lives when those ghosts haunt us much more than others. And then at other points, we finally lay them to rest.

  23. Mary - That's one of my favorite passages, too. And to think it was late coming to the book, added at the last revision, and now so necessary.

Patti - They do have that way of haunting us sometimes, leaving us wondering ...

  24. Linda - I might relinquish one soon to a lucky commenter. But not yet!

Melissa - And it's the journey from haunting to laying to rest that weaves through the story.
